Jessica's Story

'I have always had a passion for travel and I was fortunate enough to work abroad in France and Australia, experiencing a variety of jobs in different industries. Although I found the variety interesting, none of the gave me a real purpose. I became certain that I would only ever find meaning in the things I did outside of work. When I returned to work in the UK, I wanted to do something meaningful with my spare time, so I joined the Samaritans as a helpline volunteer listener. Each week, I spend a few hours answering calls to people who need to speak to someone in confidence, without judgement and with an empathetic ear. The calls are dealt with in a non-directive way meaning that we do not give advice, instead we aim to really listen and provide callers with a space to explore their emotions.

This non-directive style has a powerful effect on the callers, and it was recognising this that inspired me to study to become a Coach. I wanted to be able to help more people move forward and explore what positive changes they can make in their life. I approach my clients with this same confidential, non-judgemental and empathetic ear. My training has provided me with a toolkit of powerful coaching strategies that can help everyone to create more balance in their life.

Travel is still a love of mine but my real passion now comes from helping people to live a happier life.'
