Laura Cooper

Undō Resident Pilates & Barre Instructor

About

Introduced to Pilates though her professional dance training, Laura has practised Pilates for over 15 years. Having trained to teach Level 3 Matwork Pilates in 2019, Laura has developed a style which draws from her dance background, as both performer and teacher.

Following her ten years as a professional dancer and teacher, working internationally and in the UK, some of Laura’s students have performed with Birmingham Royal Ballet, English youth ballet and now attend Elmhurst ballet school, Royal conservatoire of Scotland, British ballet organisation scholars, Royal ballet academy, Tring park school, Addict dance academy, Ballet theatre UK and more.

Laura works right across the range of body types and abilities, from the desk worker needing to unfold and stretch out after a hard day, to athletes and sportspeople who she helps improve their performance and prevent injury. Laura was formerly the resident Pilates instructor at Feldon Valley Golf Club, where she worked to improve her clients’ performance on the course. In all of her classes, Laura particularly focuses on awareness of how the body moves, correct alignment and moving gracefully.

As well as having experienced the world, including living in Greece for six years, Laura has some unusual claims to fame: She was once a backing dancer for Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet and her face has appeared on a billboard in China!

In addition to her qualifications in mat and reformer Pilates, Laura also has Level 3 pre and post natal qualifications. She is also a Level 2 Barre Strength Instructor.
